After 19E 13E & 16E analogues were the first 2 I found as well - 60cm dish and a couple of bricks to prop it up in the garden. :-lmao

That dish came up the M6 from my mum & dads house when they changed over the Sky digital (they were given strict instructions to keep hold of it!)

Its still in use today - as our Sky Digital dish :D The lettering on the "Rugeley Aerials" sticker is still just about visible if you look closely!

Eutelsat II F3 @ 16 east was the 1st satellite I pick up on the old 70cm Sky Analogue system approx 1993 it was easy to scan with the Pace Analogue receiver & hand moving the dish from 19.2 east I eventually found 5 satellites using this method using a felt tip to mark the positions on the pole:D

Then I moved onto a motorised 88 x 78 mesh dish in 1995 that I still use today preserved using WD40:)

Yep, around the same time 1992/3 a couple that were renting from me returned to Denmark and they left a 1.om dish installed (sitting loose) on a plastic deckchair.....but it had worked for them some 4 years!!

Re the 'using a felt tip to mark'the positions on the pole'......still doing that, even yesterday, before I can get my other 1.8m installed, did a few C-band scans but marked the pole with a pencil so I could return it to the normal 'fixed' position of 28.2ºE....not very professional but again it worked.

My first satellite was Intelsat VA-F11 at 27.5W around 1990. I hadn't even sorted out a stand for the dish I just stood on the garden table and pointed it over the fence so I could see both the TV and a clear patch of sky between the trees just to see if I could pick something up. The 80cm dish wasn't really big enough but it gave reasonable pictures and it was just exciting to be able to see Discovery and CNN as they weren't part of the usual "Sky" analogue setup back then.

I remember receiving CMT on 27.5w in PAL as well as things like Filmax - though I didn't have the correct codes in my D2MAC card to actually clear it. Apparently, the mature content was good on it :D
