Up until yesterday if I right clicked on Google Maps in Chrome I would get this menu

But now when I right click I get the following menu

Screenshot 2023-03-24 11.03.09.png

Which is the standard right click menu for all (most?) other sites.

Opening Google Maps in IE11 or Firefox and then right clicking gives the original menu. Interestingly, opening Maps in an Incognito Chrome window still gives the correct right click menu.

I'm chary of clearing cookies as I keep some 40 odd windows open all the time and I don't want to lose them.

I Googled this problem of course but haven't found exactly the same problem reported. Problems seem to be right clicking on ordinary web sites, not Maps. Anyone else had this problem or heard about it? More importantly, anyone have a fix?

I use Edge, which is using the Chrome engine and aside from the first minute or so it works as normal.

I wonder if this has anything to do with this reported hack of Gmail when used with Chrome: ...[/URL]

FWIW: I also don't use Chrome unless there's a problem with Firefox.
This is nothing to do with Gmail, which I hardly ever open anyway.

Hmm, possibly something there as I'm still on Win 8.1 which doesn't receive Chrome updates any more. But, having said that, I've changed nothing in the last couple of days in Chrome. Nor for weeks before that!

Somewhere in England (possibly?)!

I basically agree - however, my post was more about general issues with Chrome, and the possibility that that hacking might be related to general issues that Chrome users may be having, and the possibility that the Google Maps issue might be one of those???? That might be especially relevant because of your older and unsupported Win 8.1 OS, as mentioned below, because older OS variants like that are said to be more vulnerable to intrusion/hacking .

Current 64 bit version of Chrome running on my Win 10 m/c is Version 111.0.5563.111 which was released on 2nd Feb 2023 - so your version. which was released in Jan 2023, looks to be relatively out of date anyway, although that appears to be the last to support Win 7 & Win 8.1(???)

BTW - it might be worth uninstalling Chrome and then reinstalling it to see if that corrects the problem??
