A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

The original appears to have been 'improved' to the point that it is now a mere shadow of itself.

I've losty the 'compass' rotation setting and cannot get a full screen image of anything.

Has anybody else found trouble getting a decent image when searching for a place ?

No, it's crap on my Win 8.1 running IE11 as well. And on my works PC running Win 7 and IE11.

This is the rewritten and "improved" version that ran in parallel with the classic version for a while but has now supplanted it. I also used to revert to the classic version every time it changed and I would give my reasons (features missing, too slow, prefer the old version) but a few months ago they announced that the classic version was being retired and you HAD to use the new version. There is a light version available if your hardware is a bit lacking and this can be chosen if you don't like the "smooth" new version.

Not had a problem here Win 8.1 and chrome, in fact I like the thumbnail into google earth from the main map, I do not remember that on the old version but then I am not a heavy user
