Got a T-REX.. Now what?

I picked up a T-Rex cam at my local sat shop here in Sicily. I can pick up the two mature content channels with the sim card that came with it. I want to pick up more. What programmer should I buy? What card should I get? What software should I load in to it and where can I find it? I have a Fun 6 card. Can I use it with my T-rex? If I reprogram the T-rex, will I still receive the two adult channels? I have a motorized dish so I can pick most of the sats in Europe.

Hi DVB-slut,
you need either a Fun Card7, PIC F84A, both known as Dragon Loader cards, a Cas 2 + add on, or a Cas 3. With any of these you can update the Dragon/T-Rex firmware with the latest Predator files.
This will open most of what is available at present on emulation hacks.
As for programmers you can get something like an Infinity/Phoenix card programmer, which will program both options of loader card, or if you haven't got a dedicated COM port on your computer you might want to look at programmers that use just the USB cable like the Infinity Unlimited or the Adteknik.
You should also look at the CAS 3, which can do a lot more than just program cards, it all depends on your budget and future requirements.
There are also rumours of a newer version of the T-Rex/Dragon Cam due out today, that will be the next generation of Cams.

Is there any way I can slide the cam directly in to the PC card slot in my lap top and program it form there? If so do I need software for that?

no you cannot use your laptop, the only ways to upgrade/load Predator firware is by using either of the 2 loader cards, Fun 7 or PIC F84A, and a suitable card programmer, or by using a CAS 2 + add on, or a CAS 3.
If possible I would try to get your local shop to exchange your T-Rex 4.1 for the newer T-Rex 4.5 model, it's more expensive but looks like it might open a lot more in the future.
But even the 4.5 can only be programmed as avove.
