This is probably a stupid question, but should i grease the threads and bolts on my newly installed channel master to stop them rusting.

Not stupid
It does not do any harm to protect any exposed threads from the elements.

Yes, a little light grease will help prevent any rust and ease the undoing of any nuts & bolts if needed.

If it is still available I would recommend copper grease on the threads (copper ease I think it is called) because the metal parts get very hot in the sun and whilst the grease evaporates under hot conditions the powdered copper allows for the easy removal of the nuts.

..I totally agree ..
Damned fine stuff that copper grease ..
I got a big tub from the local motor spares emorium some 8 years ago ..
..and I'm still using it.
A light coat occasionally on all my moving parts and I'm good to go.
Humping

:-rofl2 ..you need all the help you can get when you get the other side of 50.
Seriously though ..as has been pointed out ..the grease protects fror a very long time ..in all weathers.
