My Satellite Setup
1.2 M Motorised Dish, Technomate DAPCI Reciever, Dynamite USB & Serial Programmer
Hi all,

I would like some advice and help if anyone can help.

I installed a satellite dish for my dad many many years ago, and it’s been working brilliant, no issues at all, all channels were clear and good. But for some reason now, since RIK changed Frequency on Hellas Sat to 11146.00 V my signal strength has gone quite bad, but all the other Greek channels on Hellas sat are ok. I have even put a few dishes for family and they have noticed signal issues.

Im Running a Motorised 90 Dish with the old 12" actuator, with a Technomate Reciever. There are no signal obstructions

I’m so confused because the Frequency changed all was ok,

Sorry when i say RIK i mean Cyprus Sat :)

Hi,

On occasions had a few slight dish alignments causing problems on this transponder for Rik. Transponder also has a low transmission SR of 3.33 Mbit/s.

Hi satelliteman, thanks for your reply, so does that mean what ever i do it will not make it better?

Hi,

Just to put in my two penn'th, as I'd like to help a fellow Newcastle supporter when I can! I'm picking up RIK on my set up at 90% Strength / 75% Quality. That's just above the threshold for break up on my Vantage. I suspect I'd lose it if it rains. I'm confused as your profile states 1.2M dish but in your o/p you say 90cm. Maybe if you tried a 1M or 1.2M it would help?

Pete

Some of the later Technomate tuners are deaf at certain frequencies.

Blag another model and test the same frequency, before looking for a dish solution.

Hi sonnetpete, thanks for the reply, to cut a long story short, our previous neighbour caused a bit of grief and they were trying to say that our 1.2 dish was cutting all their light, blah blah blah,so we then bought a channel master 90 dish. So at the moment we run a 90 dish,

Thank you channel hopper :)

The other annoying thing i installed a dish for my uncle, on a 60 Dish, before that was ok and now they also get poor reception, i was thinking of getting them a 65 dish and puttinh that up for them? Would that be big enough or would i have to go up to an 85 dish?

A 90cm should be fine for Hellas 39e. I've had an acceptable signal on Rik using smaller.

I'm still receiving the Riksat with the same signal strength of 16.4 db
