right then, i dont suppose im the first to mention this little number :)

i did search through the foru but didnt find the answers i need.

i have recorded a small video of mtv (just for test purposes)

and converted it using HDTVtoMPEG2

it works great...however....no sound :(

does anyone know of a way to solve this?

Just kidding. Haven't got a clue about this, but thought I'd cheer you up :)
 
lol... actually i did check the speakers :)

ive tried a few covertors too, nothing seems to pick up .ts files ummm

ill keep working on it... like a dog with a bone :)

soon all will be revealed

I havnt used hdtv2mpeg2 but I have heard others say they get no sound. I also understand that the mpeg file produced isnt DVD compliant.
Check the settings in the prefs menu and choose sensible things to get a single mpeg file.
Check the extension of the file produced and let us know. Is there an .aif or .wav file produced as well? If there is then you have demuxed the .ts file and need to mux it back together again. If there is no sound when you play the mpeg file from hdtv2mpeg2, then to a first approximation, it has no sound in it.

I suppose hdtv in this case means hard disk tv to mpeg, in which case it is a naughty name.
