harddrive clicks

my harddrive started clicking the other day and does it constantly its really annoying ,i ve tried formating with remote dosent fix it .it wasnt even near full when problem started how do i solve this ...thanks

I have an external HD on my PC that clicks. I only keep stuff on it that I can afford to lose.

If it ever totally sticks hit the area above the spindle with the end of a screwdriver.

I'd say it was on the way out. Solve it by buying another HD?
