Have they stopped prosecuting landlords who show foreign football? I have been told there is an amnesty until the court case is over. Has there been a decision yet.
 
I don't think amnesty is the right word, but they may be holding off until they know which way to go.
 
been told that they wont procecute pubs while this case is on & they wont prosecute any pub they catch now. so they will not back date the prosecution. This cant be wright if it is why dont all the pubs take it out & waite untill the case is sorted one way or the other. Have i been told a load of rubbish by my local
 
You have to ask yourself, how would he know? ;)
 
I think they are still prosecuting if you are caught showing 3pm games though and if you are using non EU cards-i.e art, digitalb etc

From what i believe they are not prosecuting anyone showing the normal kick-offs if they are using an official 'eu' card and reciever, until the outcome of the ongoing 'murphy case'....that is.
 
the sad thing now days in UK even if you have a good dump in a bushes you get done :( ,i think we better be "MPs" so we safe

I suspect not, in the mind of the perpetrator I assume the answer revolves around the availability of big enough dock leaves

The EU free trade rule can allow importing of overseas cards and receivers for private use as a maximum,but in no way a commercial use can be authorised.
What has the european free space to do with using a private contract on commercial premises?
Surely those european providers state in their contracts that the subscription is for personal use only.

Pub owners it´s time to follow the rules as every other company in the UK.

It rather depends upon whether the Contract can, in fact, be considered Binding in the circumstances being tested.

Why should there be a need to?

A standard TV licence covers live broadcasts by terrestrial, satellite, cable, via the Internet or any other transmission.

But why a card bought for private use should be allowed to be used on commercial premises just because it comes from abroad?This doesnt relate in any way to the free movement of goods rule.

Most if not all of the pubs are using cards on domestic subscriptions. There is also the case that 3pm football is blacked out in the UK for a reason - to protect the gates at lower league clubs.

Isn't this one of the issues being tested in Court?

Court cases have other purposes than simply satisfying (or not!) a Plaintiff - they are frequently attempts to gain clarification and set precedent. The interpretation of Law, particularly Civil Law, is often very murky indeed.

What may seem obvious and clear cut to thee and me may turn out not to be so cut and dried after all.

Even Criminal Law, which tends to be more prescriptive, is not immune from interpretation and Cases often hinge upon "What their Lordships really had in mind".

Do we know how long it will be before there is an outcome in this particular Case?

I know the Laws The Law etc etc ........ But people really should treat that with the respect you'd show a traffic warden ;)

what would happen if the club had a cardshring sytem set up. would the fine be worse, as they not paying any tv company.
