what receiver is needed for hd dvb t,we still dont have it here..

how affected is a weak dvb t hd signal?
i mean is for dvb t hd, a stronger signal nesarsary,when the reception is hard on the limit,in some areas,then with normal dvb t?
is on hd dvb t ,also mhp using,with interactive back channel over mobile phone network,like orf here do?

Oh, goody: All I need now is a signal .................. not due until 2012 and by no means certain even then.

Not sure what the relevance of your link is but terrestrial HD TV is now a reality in the UK. It's MPEG4 but uses the new DVBT2 transmission standard - the first one in the world. It's apparently broadcasting now in my region but there are no HD receivers for sale yet!

More or less: Rural areas can be poorly served and most lack of coverage is there - but there are instances of populated areas not getting it either!

The Digital SwitchOver is intended to boost DTT Power at the same time as the Analogue signal is switched off, but there are still going to be dead areas.

As far as I'm aware there was certainly some lengthy test transmissions in the London area during 2009 ...but as has already been said ..no commercial broadcasts or suitable stbs as yet ..
I think reception might have been possible with a dvbthd pci card ..but can't confirm this..

There will be thousands of people with Freeview TVs (HD Ready) who will expect to be able to watch HD Terrestrial TV when it launches, without buying a supplementary box and who will be very disappointed..

When the new DVB-T2 service was announced there was talk of TV manufacturers offering plug in devices to go in to the CI slot.

Personally I don't see how that could work as a simple add-on as it's the transmission method that differs, not just the encoding. If it were just an MPEG4 decoder required it might work but it isn't. If you think about the satellite scene, new tuners were required to receive DVB-S2 as simple DVB-S ones would not work.

Perhaps if this add-on is a new tuner assembly that somehow interfaces with the TV it might work but that sounds like an awful lot of work to me!

over here in ireland we can plug viaccess np4 cams into the likes of samsung and sony tv's and we can get the irish mpeg 4 freeview service

Exactly - because you use MPEG4 on DVB-T. Just as France does.

Sorry to keep banging on about it but DVB-T2 is a different transmission method. Think of trying to receive analogue transmissions with a digital receiver. It's not quite so extreme as that but you get the idea.
