Hello...a brand spanking newbie

Hello to all. New to this forum and just wanted to...weeeell, post really.

I am a newbie to put all newbies to shame, we've all got to start somewhere!, so I have chosen to join an experts forum...erm...sorry about that, anyways...

I've read a few of the new threads and newbie type postings and, as annoying as it must be for you guys, I'm going to start in the same way.

Any info/hints/tips/advice (<---no telling me to **** off, by the way)/preferential treatment/bungs/spare girlfriends etc..will be gratefully recieved.

I have a grundig gdt 2000 freeview box. Generally I know how to switch it on....and then off. Any further information on using it will involve a wee (I'm scottish so I use wee quite a lot....meaning small, by the way and not...well...urineO-Ha) cuddle from the rev, and probably lots of kisses.



...it would seem that, by popular demand, a thank you and a lifetime of friendship will suffice.

Sorry to go on, and also for posting some twaddle, but its my first post and I tend to ramble when I'm nervous Ok, thats enough..hello anyways people.

Not much I can add about the Grundig, it works to spec, but thats about it.

Are you thinking of getting any other bits and bobs for the vicarage ?

Thanks for the welcome people, I'll try to keep my ignorance to the bare minimum and avoid blatently stupid questions.

Channel Hopper, the vicarage only has fta at the moment, believe it or not tomorrow I get telewest digital and also my first venture into the land of broadband. I had to encourage the congregation to dig deeper for the collection in order that I could afford it.....new roof for the church indeed!...those suckers would fall for anythingO-grab

..as for the nuns, kleefarr. They were a regular at the manse at one time...couldn't get enough of them....literally. These days, however, I have no desire for a pack of nuns (as is the collective term for a group of them) to invade my everyday life, in fact you could say that i've now kicked the habit(({}) bada boom tschh) which, as it turns out, is illegal.

Anyways, I actually quite like my grundig box thingy. Never let me down and does the job, not knowing what the rest do that mine doesn't also helps.

What I would like to know tho......(i'll try to be as non-specific as possible as i'm not too sure what can be discussed...feel free to delete any/part or all of this..well, apart from my "attempted" jokes....pm me if you want me to point out the "jokes", you might have missed them;))...I would like to watch the old firm match this weekend if possible...you get the jist.

I seem to be rambling again...it's the excitement of the tw thingy tomorrow.
Thanks for the welcome again, by the way, as i fully expected no replies and my 1st post to disappear without a trace....newbieness must get annoying after a while.

What a serious lack of respect. I'm a man of the cloth, you know!....I have touched it on many occasions. I have a direct line to him upstairs (a direct line which recently has been converted to always on, if you please;)). I could have any one of you (mainly because I don't know who the culprit is) struck by a bolt of lightning in an instant. Failing that even quicker.

I don't know where you are getting the idea that I like to ramble on from. I think my ellokwen......eloqwens.....ellocwen....way with words is plain for all to see, straight to the point and no messing, just like my sermons. If this impertinence continues drastic action will be taken. I will coolly and calmly place a cable tv post within the sky forum

I'm also feeling a wee bit agoraphobic and thats why I'm staying in my own wee thread for the time being (apart from when I left here and posted in another topic). That way only people who like rambling need enter and I wont annoy anyone with my excessive guff. Of course when I finally understand the other forum headers...whoa betide the stableboy badge attacherer;)

Anyway, I think I have definitively proved that the treacherous rambling rumours going around about me at the moment are quite unfounded (...but only quite, mind). The fact that I am posting under the guise of a minister and actually getting into the part is far more worrying than a bit of rambling (which, as i said, is unfounded). I'm going to toddle off to bed now to...errm..think about what you people have done. Thanks for making me feel welcome by allowing me to join a club, albeit for idiots...one day I will be the no1 idiot...I can feel it.

I think a glance at the main TV guides for the matches you really want to watch, reporting back both on the teams and on the channels that carry them, both cable and satellite.

That way we could all look for a suitable cheap alternative (it may require installing a system that collects signals from another faith though, so be warned)

Thanks Channel Hopper. I really wanted to watch the rangers - celtic match on setanta freeview on saturday past. I was a wee bit too scared to come right out with what I was looking for ! for fear of getting either a) The forum into trouble or Me into trouble.

Just listened to the game on the radio instead, not quite the same...but an excellent result nonetheless;).

By the way (just incase im being a bit paranoid), hope no-one takes my posts too seriously and doesn't take offence at my attempted humour, which could be seen as being a bit on the cheeky side. The "still on probation" bit on the left made me wonder if I had been a bit too close to the knuckle. Can I continue rambling?....or is it a wee bit tired now? ...was quite enjoying posting as a rambling nonsensical minister;)
