Hello all. I live in the Scottish highlands. Moved up here a few years ago to live the dream. Back down south my set up was a 1.2m prime focus dish and several receivers and all the usual cams, cards and software. Still got it all packed away. Can’t use it as too many trees around at the moment Happy to meet you all.

Good idea but each enormous tree costs £800 to be cut down. I’ve had three done closest to the house (for safety and insurance purposes) but it’s a matter of affordability at the moment. The annoying thing is that the house is fairly remote and south facing! Without trees I’d have a clear view of the sky from east to west

Could you put a dish the far side of the trees on a pole concreted into the ground?

BTW only official cams & cards work nowadays - the glory years of multiple pay tv services being opened on dodgy cams & software is pretty much over (there are a few exceptions but we cant go inro them in any detail on this forum).

Hello again, I am gradually getting the trees removed, one by one! I’m surrounded by 20mtr+ conifers. Professional tree surgeons required!! Bob
