HELP? DPM mode on LG tv??? Using sky hd!!

hi guys just had sky HD installed.My tv has a DVI slot.Which i have connected an adapter and then a hdmi cable.The picture will only be displayed if i select the 576 resolution in the sky menu.Any other setting (720 or 1080) i get "going to DPM mode" and a blank screen.
My tv spec is as follows...

You may not ever get it to work. DVI has no provision for HDCP, which protects high definition signals, and without this "handshake" the $ly HD box refuses to send an HD picture.

This is to stop people recording HD signals on an external device.

This also mentions a device called an HDCP Blaster but I really can't see how such a thing would work.
