help finding eutelsat W2M

i live in france and i have lost one week of time trying to get this Satallite.
Info:
LNB UNIV
70 CM DISH
Bigsat the reciver.

i used this for Canal +, now i dont use it any more then, so i thought i could catch some free chanals from Eutelsat 2

the only Satellite i can see is nilesat with a full of german chanalles.

befor you ask. i havent fund hotbird and astra, and yes i am very new to this.
 
Nilesat is actually full of Arabic channels. Sounds like your dish is pointing at the Astra 1 cluster at 19E.

The same frequencies are used around the orbital arc & where the frequency and transmission parameters overlap between Astra 1 and Nilesat you will get the appropriate channels scanning onto the receiver.

If you want W2M you are going to have to realign the dish.

Be aware W2M is no longer at 3.1E - shes at 16E.
 
if i got a Twin LNB would i be able to recive signal or is waste of money since Eutelsat its bitwin astrat and hotbird i should be getting them with twin LNB
 
You need to learn to walk before running.......
You need to determine what satellite you are currently pointing at before deciding what to buy next
Also to clarify a monobloc points at two different satellites normally 3 or 6 deg apart but a twin points at only one and has two outputs.
You need to read a lot more and slow down this is a hobby not a race
 
i used Canl + And CanlSat they only work with astra1, so i have to be at Astra. -http://www.yavido.de/ i am recving this music channal that is in astra but in my satellite reciver it shows as Neilsat check it out in dishpointer.com and i got the result of astra near there has to be Eutelast W2, to start i need to test anodher satellite reciver.
 
well i must in astra, reason Canal + CanlSat works only in astra and i had that befor now i changed services so no need for dish, in other way dish was staying in wall for nothing, idea come to me to get some albanian chanalls for free 4 of them i think, with some search found out they are at Eutelsat W2 you get Digitalb but usles to me as i got some sort of deal in france.
finaly i am pointed direction fo astra and i get nilesat.
 
It doesnt matter WHAT the receiver says is the satellite - you are scanning 19E Astra 1. Yavideo isnt carried on anything apart from 19E.

The frequency lists are just tables in the memory of the receiver. Nothing more.

If you scan satellite 1 BUT your dish is pointing at satellite 2 then you will get satellite 2's channels where the information in the satellite 1 & satellite 2 data tables coincide.

W2 at 16E expired with a terminal electronic fault at the end of January and W2M was moved around from 3.1E to replace it.
 
i jsut wiped up reciver and i can confirm i am at astrat 1 freq 10876 symbol 22000 transponder 2 now tog et what i want whats i my options

What channels are you wanting to receive ?
 
well i need some albanian chanales in W2 which it seems to be coverd by W2M but it seem not to easty to find, i am pointed at astra atm.
 
You need to align to Eurobird 16A / Eutelsat Sesat / Eutelsat W2M @ 16.0°e as menrioned in post #2.

If your locked up on Astra1 @ 19°e then your not far off. You need to move the dish 3° in an Westerly direction and raise the EL a tad. On a 70cm it won't be a large movement.

Is a 70cm big enough for reliable reception?
 
There are only 3 Albanian channels in the clear:

RTV Alssat on 10957H 2821 2/3
Vizion Plus on 11283H 27500 5/6
TV Squiptar on 12656V 4883 1/2
 
From behind the dish, it will be to your right (Westerly).
Monitor the above frequencies on your receiver as you adjust the alignment :)
