I have just bought a Titanium 0.2db LNB (single) and Triax TD64 dish. The instructions are very vague, and I have a question regarding the attachment of the LNB.

How far up the neck of the LNB should it be clamped? Is it as far up towards the "head" as possible, as in the arrow on the attached picture?

The clamp from the dish-arm is such a tight fit round the LNB (worryingly tight actually... hope the plastic doesn't snap), I want to get it right first time before tightening it up fully!

Thanks,
Jez.

you need to put the lnb in the collar and using a signal meter move the lnb forward and back to find the best position for the lnb and then tighten up

Those Triax 40mm LNBf holders are tight and their locking design makes it awkward to swap or move LNBfs - we modify them - leave the small bolt loose and push the two black tabs in so they don't lock anymore.. this allows you to move the LNBf without excessive force in / out and skew and even pull the LNB 'holder' out a bit if it tends to want an even longer focal length (distance from the dish) - usually it's the other way (to your arrow) with Triax's and they usually need a shorter focal length- often shorter than it will allow depending on whether it is the fixed or folding arm you can modify them shorter or use a long neck lnb like the Edisons.

Hi guys...
Don't mean to hijack the thread but will moving the LNB in/out make a diference to the signal strenght?...

I found that lately I have to put a skew on the LNB to gain some signal strength where as before It never had skew..and I'm wondering since seeing this thread if I move my LNB in or out of the collar will I gain anything,at the moment the collar is tight against the holder...

The reason I ask is on one or two of my HD channels I am getting slight break up and they have a SNR of 23..
cheers

yes as it will find the best focal postion for the lnb and get the best signal

also with dishes you need to match the lnb to the dish as someone could say oh invacom are best lnbs and one might not work best with your dish
