Hi,

I was wondering if someone can help, i have an old Echostar AD3000ipva Receiver and it has been working great for years and years with Art sports card in it, but Art has finish the prem football at the moment so i purchased a conax pocket cam NP4 and Digitalb card.

The problem is that it wont descramble, the picture is blank but if i put the card in an old magic cam i have the picture comes on for about 10 secs then freezes then goes blank for 5 secs then back on for 10 secs and so on.

The seller of the cam and card says the receiver is too old to work with the new conax cam.

Any help would be of great help

Dont know if i posted this in the correct place or not.

Cheers

When you put the Conax CAM in the receiver, does it recognise it in the CAM menu?

Hi tehre!
the echostar ad 3000 ip,is going very hot, during operation!

our cable operator here, told me,that some cams, has problems, with the heat, and then they swichted off!

also, the same problem, was on the technisat conax cam, when it was using 24 h in the multiplexer boxes,of the cable operators!

in the old day, when i upgradeded the irdeto se 4.7 into freecam ,the module also get hot temperatur.during notebook upgrade,in the ci slot!

and switching off in the reviever, esasely echostart,i put it in the deep freezer, some minutes, then back to the reveiver, and it works fine:)
remember, only orginal Conax cams begining on rev 3.03 4.0 support au ,of an orginal card!
magic module,does not!

hope,that helps!
good night,from the alps,until tomorow!:)

Hi,
I have had no problems with my satellite receiver at all tho, my aston cam and magic module have been fine for years, so i dont think its a overheating problem. It was cold also when i first got the cam and card.
The cam says on the front, Conax, Pocket, powered by NP4.
Here is a link to a picture of it.
_http://www.turbosat.com/acatalog/MPEG_4_Conax_Cam.html

Is this the correct cam i need for Digitalb?
Have they sent me the wrong one? (not turbosat tho, i purchased this from elsewhere)

Cheers

Hi Topper,

I have no idea, what do you recommend to watch Digitalb subscription with Conax encryption.

The seller advertised the Cam and card so i pressumed it would work ok in my receiver?
It was on ebay but the seller has a good 100% rating, so it seems to work for everyone else purchasing them unless i have a duff cam maybe?

@ topper

I noticed in your system list you say penta 1.20? mine says 1.11, would it work if i upgraded to 1.20? as the picture is on and off with my magic cam. (which is the closest to it working)

Hello !
yes .you can use,the same cam,for hd also,it did not depends,on the dvb norm, the channel is broadcasting!

not, every ci modul, generates the same tempertur,in the reveiver, the magic modul, has lower temperture then others like freecam,or conax ci of difrents manufactures, also crpytororks, when this modul ,on every other reveiver will work, without any problems, why then the echostar ad 3000 shoulld have a fault?

try other ci out,on the same reveiver, you have also problems with them?
when, you have interruption,on other reveiers also, with the same cam, that you using,in your echostar, then the cam is not okay, try this out!

I have to be honest and say that I have no idea, I upgraded my cam to 1.2 about 5 years ago and as I do not even use it now I do not know if it would improve the situation, to be truthful I doubt it.
I suspect the problem is the stb cam combination, a number of expensive cams do not work in certain stb's and I have never yet seen a satisfactory explanation as to why.
As you say it is an old stb and perhaps now is the time to lay out some cash for perhaps a technomate?

When I had my Echostar 3000, I used a Technisat Conax cam (DAS Original) for Digialb and it was fine.

Thanks everyone for your help on this matter.

The problem is now solved and working fine at the moment.

A big thanks to Jimbo, i ordered one of those Conax cams that you used to have and it works a treat, Digitalb now clearing with official card, so i can only assume incompatability with my receiver or the cam i received before is faulty.

So anyway the technisat conax cam works fine and the new NP4 wont work with Echostar AD3000ipva to anyone who owns up to having one of these old beasts! lol

Cheers

Cheers Topper.

It was £45 delivered and i'm gonna send the other back, so should be about square again.
When i move early next year might get one of those patched technomates, i'll have a look when the time comes.

Cheers
