If i have one satellite dish (small one, like DISH TV's) with single LNB, is it possible to use one dreambox in room-1 and from there to other rooms Direct to TVs? What I want is to use one Reciever and Connect 4 or more TVs to different rooms with individual Channel viewing capability. Like cable TV providers do,Coaxial cable to each house hold direct to tv. Now is it possible? If yes then what r the equipments needed? If not then what r the best alternatives? Please help me as I’m very new to this and want to purchase the equipments as suggested. Thanks.

As I understand your drawing, this won't be possible.

I believe you will need a separate receiver in each room and you will need multiple LNB connections from the dish, one to feed each receiver.

Others on here are far more experienced at this sort of set up than I am, so will probably be able to advise on the most efficient solution.

Correct, to give each viewing location their own choice of channels you need a receiver in each location each with it's own connection to an LNB, so you'd need a quad or octo LNB with separate cable to each location

Thanks a lot. But if i use card to watch pay channels what will be the setup in that scenario? Do i have to use cards for each box!? And again if it is not possible then how do the cable tv service providers do? Thanks.

Best thing for you is to get a box for every room linked up to the dish plus have Ethernet connection/wifi
Then have a master box with the sub card in there.
The rest of the boxes will have to be set up for CS with your master box!

If you want to watch different channels at the same time you will need receivers in every location that you want to watch.

Thanks everyone for prompt reply. Ok, i want 61.5w. I dwell in a duplex (ground and 1st floor) of a 3 storied building. I have 4 TVs. 3 TVs are at the 1st floor in 3 rooms and 1 at the ground floor. I would like to place the dish at the top floor. There may be more TVs in future. And i want every TVs to have there own channel viewing capability. So, what r the equipments i need (Dish size, LNBs and all)?
Thanks.

hello,
saw your diagram in order for every tv to watch different tv channels you will need a receiver in every spot.
one receiver can run all the tv sets but they will all watch the same channel.
if you have 4 tv sets then 4 tv sets will watch the same news channel.
one dish can run a building no problem.
one dish allined to the one satellight you want to watch 61.5 w
4 output LNB on the front of the dish.
4 lines each running to each room
4 receivers one for each room
then each tv can work without interfearing with each other.
thats what you need, as for as dish size you will have to ask the installer what dish size for your area
for the sat you want to pick up.
if you have never installed a satellite system you it is not likely you will be able to set this up.

You have theoretically 3 options

1) 2 dishes

2) one dish motorised

3) one dish with an offset lnb

How practical each of these will be I dont know - I dont know the signal strengths and dish sizes required for the channels on these birds. If you want to watch channels off both satellites at the same time you cab forget the motorised option.

Remember you will need subscriptions for any pay tv services you want to watch, and may need 2 receivers
