Hello I am new so need some help

I have set up my own 60cm dish and lnb and managed to get sky tv.

1- Signal Strenght is 100%
2- Signal Qualty 80%

All sky channels work fine sign up to setanta sports and the picture is crappy its unwatchable.

I been told i need to do something do my dish like move it.

Can some one please tell me where to move it to? do i need to change the elevation? or just the azimuth?

Please help?

Hi, you must of watched too much watchdog, lol re: setanta problem.

Best way to put it in simple terms: With this size dish, from earth 28.2e & 28.5e will be seen as the same location due to the large beamwidth of your dish.

What do you mean the picture is "crappy"?? Some of the pictures Ive seen on Setanta leave a lot to be desired at the best of times. Or is it the picture breaks up into "legovision" every time it rains?

In addition, Hotbird is also in the opposite direction to 28.2e :D

The dish could just need tweaking a little?

You could try ringing a satellite man up and see how much they charge.:)

You may need just to nudge it a little to the east (only a tiny amount) - there are 5 different satellites with 10 different transmission footprints, and if the dish is slightly misaligned you sometimes find the picture is poor on some channels. Also make sure the "skew" (rotation) on the lnb is set correctly - the screw fixing on the lnb needs to be at about "7 o'clock" as you face the dish

I will have a go tomorrow. Any more ideas, all my Dish LBN and cable are less than 2 months old.

As mentioned by A/S skew is also important and may need adjustment especially on this Tp as there is another transponder on the same frequency on the opposite polar.
