Help please - Only picking up one transponder

I am a newb at this and trying to learn as much as I can from sites and forums like this one.

I have installed a fixed dish (zone 2) and I'm trying to set it to Thor 1W.

I'm certain I'm on it but the only transponder I can pick up is 12418.00 V which basically lets me see The Poker channel, TV Patriot and Nautik TV

The signal levels are around 72+ each (intensity and quality)

I've tried to use the BBC world transponder instead but I just cant seem to pick it up. The other transponders seem to have a quality of between 1 - 7 %.

In the line of sight are a few tress (there about 25 metres away) - would this impact my receiving?

How come I can pick up one transponder very well but none others?

I keep trying to adjust the dish it but it doesnt seem to be making much difference.

Definitely on the correct satellite, but first problem will be the skew of the LNB, if it is a standard minidish LNB it will have preset skew to receive Astra 28,2, you will need to "modify" it to achieve zero skew.

Secondly, the zone 2 minidish is a little small for that satellite, 90cm would be more appropriate.
 
How do I modify it?

Could it be the trees blocking it? I dont want to buy a 90cm dish, put it up and then find it is actually the trees that are the problem.

Why can I only receive one TP?
 
The elevation of 1W is approx 31 degrees. Check dishpointer for a better estimate. If the trees are above this angle, then they're blocking, if not then they're not.

The easiest LNB to modify is the Sky QUADs (WNC), you can file off the lumps on the LNB neck and twist it where you want. Get them on ebay for less than £8 delivered.

I have set up a 60cm dish (conventional) and got BBC World and all DigiTV transponders on it, so I think withe a zone 2 that you are in with a chance.

I have also had BBC World on a zone 1 in my back garden.

Only one TP because either the signals you're getting to the LNB are too week, or your transponder list is incorrrect. Consult Lyngsat.com to check.
