I have a problem, which is really confusing me. I moved my fixed 80cm dish to provide an adequate pictures on hotbird (Signal Level 80% and Signal Quality 60%), however, after a few days both the signal level and quality seem to degrade to 75% and 45% on free access channels If l leave my sat receiver on the channel, after a few hours, the Signal level pecentage slowly rises to about 75% and Signal Quality goes to 49% - which is adequate to view some channels.

I have moved my dish again recently and fixed it into place, however the same problem prevails....

I am using a Golden interstar dsr 8001 reciever, but l still am puzzled to why the encrypted channels seem to lose their signal in a matter of days, once the dish is re-aligned correctly.

any ideas to resolve the problem would be gratefully appreciated,

thanks in advance,

Well I would question whether the dish is, in fact, aligned correctly .............. sounds to me as if it could be marginal.

Also, have you adjusted the LNB skew to suit?

What LNB are you using?

What satellite position was the dish used for previously?

When moving it, I assume you optimised the elevation as well as the azimuth?

Welcome to the forum.

It may not be channel related but more a receiver or LNb fault. After correct alignment if your still getting the symptoms I'd swap out the LNb and see first as this is the cheapest option.

Be sure the dish is correctly aligned and you've applied the correct LNb skew.

edit: typing too slow.
