I have just received my Blue Line 0.3 LNB today, so as l had some time off work today, l fitted it onto my 80cm dish, leaving the receiver, Humax 5400, on a FTA channel on hotbird. Upon changing the LNB, the signal level was 60% and the Quality was 20%.

However, after changing the LNB to the Blue Line,. the signal level is now 50% and there is no Signal Quality..strange....

I moved the dish, thinking the it maybe slightly out of the hotbird beam range . But now l am totally confused to what is going on..

Is there any settings that are required by the receiver to detect that the LNB has been changed to the Blue Line?

Any other thoughts to why l cant even pick up the free to air chanels on hotbird now, after changing the LNB to the blue Line

Much help is needed, I have the ladder ready to get on the roof...

thanks in advance,
tw.

If you were only getting 20% quality, then the dish was probably out of alignment anyway, the Blueline should produce better figures, but of course could be faulty.

thanks for the response,

how can l re-align the dish correctly?

No changes are therefore required by the receiver to accommodate the Blue Line LNB?

thanks,

No, if the previous LNB was a universal, all should be the same. What are the settings in your LNB menu?

If you are getting a low quality reading, make sure that the offset is correct, i.e. rotate the lnb for best quality. Vertical polarization is not actually vertical, it is "leaning" over by a few degrees, depending on where you live.

There will be somewhere, but let's assume for the moment that it is correct. :)

thanks for your help guys for the past few weeks.

I have now re-aligned my dish and now have a Signal Level and Quality of 80% respectively.

The Blue Line 0.3dB LNB is working fine, many thanks for the help in recommending this LNB..

I can now sit back and watch satellite tv...

much appreciated,
tw.
