Hi,

I've got skytv in my house; I've disconnected the cable and plugged it to my skystar2. I'm looking for software that could scan for reachable satellites show the signal strength etc. I've already installed newest skystar2 drivers from manufacturer’s website.

Can you recommend any?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Regards
Tomas

Welcome to the forum t0mas

If you have sky tv and are using that dish then your dish will be pointing at 28.2 and in order to get other satellites you will need to move your dish. If you decide to do that then mark with white paint or similar the current position then you can always return to it

Thanks for reply! I won't be touching that dish as it's tricky to get to it... Is there any software that would do a scan of what is visible to my skystar?

ProgDVB comes with a satellite database (including 28.2).

There's a primitive signal strength/quality bar below the displayed picture.

Or for more info on received signal, errors etc, try TSReader Lite from

I've got TSReader 2.7.4 when I start it displays a window with a title of:
Tune Technisat/B2C2

where I can choose satellites, I tried choosing Astra2 28.2E with settings that came up
Frequency: 10818
Symbol Rate: 22000
LNB frequency: 9750
22Khz Tone [v]
(*) Vertical RHCP
switch input: none
it gives me an error saying: failed to lock a signal (a)

Any ideas what that could be?

You need to set it to voltage switching, not 22khz switching, it needs to be 13v for Vertical polarity. You seem to have it set for circular polarisation.

Without moving that dish the only thing visable to your skystar will be 28.2 East. Are you going to install another dish then?

Hi,
Thanks for your suggestions. My current TSReader setup screenshots are attached; I'm still getting a same error... :( any help on how to make it work is greatly appreciated.

Regarding moving/tilting the dish; not in foreseen future as I'm looking to hookup the splitter and have skytv in one room and skystar with whatever I can figure out on my pc :)

Your second screenshot shows that you have chosen Diseq.
Try w/o Diseq.

All your Tps are Updated ones or You are scanning a blind scan.

Yes I'm looking to run a blid scan to see any transponders/channels avialable. Is there a way of doing this with tsreader?

I have submited few method how to blindscan in INDIADTH section. Pls find it. They are old posts.

You need to select universal in the LNB field.

PS. Why are you using TS Reader, something like ProgDVB would be a better choice.

Set your LNB configuration as in pic2.

As Rolf said, alternatively try ProgDVB , TSReader may have more info than you need at present.
