HELP! Set up Probs

Hi there,

Trying to install sky box for my 3 month stay in French Alps & struggling a bit!

Would be really grateful for any answers & any further info. To help get reception.

I have a current sky box which I got for freesat channels & have brought out to France with me.

I have a TRIAX dish installed already with ALPS universal LNB.

I’ve connected the dish to the sky box & having adjusted the dish have got the following showing on the relevant ‘services’ menu:

approx 90% signal strength

approx 75% signal quality

Lock – OK

Network ID – 0001

Transport stream 042c

However the box continues to tell me I have no satellite signal. Any ideas why?

Any clues greatly appreciated!
 
Interesting one!

All looks well, apart from the business end.

I take it you've tried a fair selection of Channels and get the same result?

In particular, you might try Channels of both Horizontal and Vertical Polarisation and also Channels from Low and High Band.

That said, a simple reboot of the Receiver may help - all sorts of inexplicable glitches occur with DSAT Receivers.

It may (or may not!) help if you tell us the Make and Model of the Box in question.

Hi,

Assuming freesat channels being BBC, ITV etc... these are on Astra28e.

From your Network id & stream data, your dish is aligned to Astra1 @ 19e.

You need to realign the dish to 28e in order for the EPG to work.

Aha! Missed that bit - though if his Dish has been used before for 28E, one wonders why it is pointing elsewhere?

All will become clear.

Astra 2 is 0002/07d4, IIRC

Yes, that's right!

Two minute job to swivel the Dish around and down a bit - unless you need to get the ladders out.
