help setting up motor installation ?

I disagree, if it is installed the other way up, the dish can be moved to below the position it is now, which appears to be around 23 degrees.

Ah, it doesn't look like it can from the photo, but then I have no personal experience of this brand. By the way those elevation numbers on the dish backplate don't look as though they mean much when used with the clamping system illustrated.

Hi ,just to let you guys know the latest on my dish installation. I have moved the dish from the pole to the wall bracket and can now get 5 satellites( thor, atlantic bird 5, sirous, hotbird and astra 19e ) I Guess i cant get the rest yet as I had to change my latitude from 60 to 63 and havnt yet filed down the declination bracket to get a lower elevation. I will try this as soon as the weather improves a bit. Thanks again to everyone for all their advice!

Have you not tried putting the dish elevation bracket upside down?

No ive not tried it yet, time and weather have been against me. Maybe try this weekend.

Well ive changed the elevation bracket ,reset my latitude bracket to 60,and still I can only seem to get the same 5 satellites as before albeit at good signal qualily of about 80. I dont really mind as ive got the ones i wanted although it would be nice to get the other available ones especially hispasat. Any more advice anyone? thanks.

If you send the dish to 30W, can you achieve any signal level when tipping the dish up and down? Also check that the default transponder for 30W is one on the European beam.

Can you receive 5W? Should be an easy catch, then try 15W.

Thanks Rolfw tried that, Got Hispasat & the missing satellites, Everything working fine at moment. Thanks everyone!

Thats what we like to hear a result, well done:-handclap

Still wondering what you did to get the Western ones. I would have guessed a small north /south adjustment would have been required on top of any filing.

Didnt need to do any filing, once I turned the elevation bracket around went to Thor and moved the arm down until i got the best possible quality reading. Went to 30W and the signal was there.

So that's another dish of that type where (at more northerly latitudes) it only works if you assemble the bracket upside down. Is it bad design, cheap manufacture or a bit of both?

Anyway, I'm glad you managed to resolve the problem. You're getting more of the western arc than me! (trees in the way!)

Hi guys,im after some more advice im afraid!! Now that the dish is working fine, id like to be able to use the recording more than one channel at one time feature. I assumed all I would need to do is connect another lead from my twin lnb to the other lnb output but that didnt work and i got a lnb fault message on my reciever display so i had to remove that lead to get my picture back. Any ideas please?

Might be worth checking cable connections in case of a short circuit.

Thanks, yes it seemed to be the cabel connections, working now!!

Excellent news - thanks for letting us know :)
