Well,
for the past few years, my wife and I have been 'happy' with our current sky set-up (though hacked off with the charges) when I was going through the attic and found my old set-up when we lived in the States for a while with DSS cards, programmers etc. and it brought back good memories of what we had and the friends we had online with fixes etc.
I'd love to bin sky completely and have more than the free view channels but not sure of the right way to go, which is the best PVR, receiver, best supported with quick hash fixes blah, blah.
I've no issues with sticking up another dish or moving my sky one if need be.
If anybody can stick it in black and white to exactly what I'll need (and approx costs if poss) to get some channels. I've heard that I get get ice hockey on one of the sats, but not sure which system.
I'm sure you know what I'm asking and any help would be appreciated - and dont worry, I wont be a noob for long and will probably get into this like I did in the US and be involved with it all yet again

P.S. I don't have c@ble in our area
