Help whats the best box for sky channels?

sab 2500+ box, 85cm motorised dish!

Hi there sorry to bother people, im new to this satellite thing an have currently got a sab 2500+ box with a 85cm motorised dish, i would like to get the sky channels an have been told i need a differrent box, i would like to know if this is true an if so how do i go about this and what box would i need, could you please help me out with this and give me some recomendations on what box would be best for this, thanks very kindly, Gary!
 
Depends on what you mean by "Sky" Channels ............. if you means Subscription Channels, then you need a BSkyB box (Unless you want to go the difficult rout and use a Linux Receiver - but you'd still need a Sky Sub.)

If you mean BBC, ITV etc, then your existing box should be fine as long as it is a generic DVB S box.
 
Is it easy with a Linux box to do this and yes it's for sky sports etc, what would be the best box an how do I find a sub, are there people who just advertise this an would there be on here, I'm sorry to be a pain but I am a dummy with this at the minute but hope to get better, thanks kindly again Gary!
 
The sub comes from BSkyB ........... If you are minded to try it any other way, then that falls outside the remit of the Forum.

i have been using the dm500s and it seams to run fine.
does anyone know of a good place to buy dm 500s with the cc cam 321 for sky uk service\?

Cant you just load cccam 321 onto your existing box?

Or am I misunderstanding?
 
Don't touch the latest CCcam. Has a backdoor that sends all the addresses to a remote server
