help which hotbird satellite

Hi,

I livee in the NW of england and would like to receive italian tv such as Rai and mediaset.

Can someone tell me which of the Hotbird satellites i need to direct my dish towards? 6 7 or 8?

I had a system installed on our previous house but we have now moved and would like to install DIY so i have the old receiver but need the dish, Would a 90cm be enough, I have no trees to obscure signal.

Hotbirds 6 7A & 8 are co-located in one spot in space so you get all of them in one go. The transmissions are so powerful a 60cm dish would be plenty, although you might want to go for a 70cm or 80cm to allow for bad weather rain fade.

Although most of the RAI / Mediaset channels are fta they often scramble for sports events or new movies
