Help with DXM-7000

Hi, I used to have a stab motor which pointed up until i moved and it borke and now I have a dxm-7000 which has the tube going down.

I'm having some issues with chosing the correct angle for the dish.
I've looked in the book and looked at dishpointer, etc. still cant get a thing

The boom says 22.4 degrees and dishpointer says 29 degree.
My co-ordiantes are Latitude: 53.2924° Longitude: -2.9284°.

I desperately need help as I'mmy wits end.

Set it what the book says, then fine tune it on your due South satellite as per the sticky guides.
 
i tried setting it on what the book says but i can move it left and right to my hearts content and the dreambox still shows snr 45% and agc 45%.
 
Have you read the sticky guides? They explain how to find your Due South satellite.

The setting of the dish bracket should only be used as a guide, you use the signal strength to tell you which is the optimum setting and azimuth whilst adjusting manually.
 
Thanks guys I've read all the guides and i'meven lucky enough to have a telegraph pole 50 metres away which is dead on true south for me.

But still cant a thing. Thining my lnb maybe screwed Its a invacom .3 I bought 4 years ago
 
There isn't a satellite dead South at your longitude of -2.9°
Try 5W for reference set up satellite. Think your motor is a Moteck clone and are fairly easy to set up using USALS.

If your sure there is an obstruction then you can always set up the system on a strong close satellite. The procedure is the same in the guides but you need to send the dish to the calculated position first. It's always best to set up on due South (top of the arc).

The no signal is more than likely because your not on the arc but if you think your LNb is at fault there fairly cheap enought o pick up another.

I always thought 1w was about 3 degrees off my true south

Forgot to add, 29° will be for a fixed dish with NO motor.
22.4° will be dish elevation once the declination of the dish has been taken off of 30 (motecks are -30). As said though on many threads, dish EL scales are not accurate.

If you are at minus 2.9, then it is 2 degrees, so you can use that or as Satelliteman says, 5 West, which is also 2 degrees away.

Why would a motor make a differece between 22.4 + 29 at 1 west
iwould of thought that 29 would be top of the arc then when you rotate east say to 28.2 it would be 22.4. Maybe I'm a little thick here
 
The motor arm will already be at an angle, so if you set the dish to the satellite elevation on the bracket, you will be too high by the amount of degrees on the motor arm.
