Flysat will have lists of frequencies including footprint maps showing reception areas.

A few of the Northern Beam frequencies from 54.9E are huge signal levels in the UK.
The receiver will be glowing red hot with the signal levels from a 1.8m dish aimed at that lot.

There isnt much past 55E

57E used to be a fairly easy catch even with odest equipment but the Europe / ME beam got switched off months ago. past 57E you really need a good horizon out towards the east

60E has multiple spot beams so you would need to see which spots cover your area.

62E you might get lucky with some of the Iranian frequencies.

ok, so im lost....

ive locked onto a TP - 11111 - V - 11000 - QPSK 4/5
(plus 3 others on GT COMBO)

can someone tell me what sat im on???

(ive mved my dish as far as it can go without fowling the jack on polar mount (a bit i could remove with angle grinder....) - and took pot luck and did a blind scan.

result attached: (ignore 62e that was a starting point)

i dont wanna move from this spot until i know where i am.

any further east the jack would foul on a part of the polar mount, id have to angle grind it off.
