help with new humas & aerial input

Hi,
I just bought a HUMAX HDR-FOX T2 Freeview+ HD Recorder - 500GB but we only have a single cable coming from our satellite dish. Weve set it up & it all works fine except that we only have limited functions as we dont have the 2 aerial outputs. Is there something we can purchase which splits the aerial signal and gives us the 2 outputs we need to record 2 channels at the same time?

There seems to be confusion here: Freeview is the Digital Terrestrial system and not a Satellite system.

The Humax Fox T2 is a Digital Terrestrial Receiver.

Equivalent Humax product for Freesat is the Foxsat HDR.

Please clarify.

For full functionality, you must provide two feeds from the dish - this is because the connection between dish and tuners works both ways. Each tuner sends band and polarity switching signals to the LNB.

So, you cannot split a single feed in the way you want as not only will it diminish the signal, but you will get switching conflicts.

Reasonable functionality can, however, be achieved in the proper Single Feed mode for the Foxsat, whereby one tuner is "looped-through" to the second one.


But for full choice of Channels to record along with record two, watch one functionality, you must have two feeds.

In practice, this means you need to replace the existing LNB on the dish with a Quad Output one and then run cables from two of those outputs. You will be left with two spare feeds.
