Help with Satlook Micro new user

Just bought the above and I am trying it out not much luck yet but its down to my lack of knowledge.
I have read the user manual countless times, trying to lock onto Thor in the easy find mode can some kind sat member run though
what I have to do please it would be of help.

I am using the device attached to a caravan tripod.
 
Don't really use EF mode on mine. Pretty sure this mode uses recognised programmable transponders, and of course has NIT readout to identify the satellite when you are locked on. Are you familiar with setting up on 1W, ie. can you not look at the spectrum fingerprint and then work / experiment EF mode from there [assuming the meter has or been upgrade with spec display] ?
 
Still no luck, meter has not got the last software version on so I will do that when my cable arrives.
Tried Astra 19 and thor but could not lock on now the battery is going down so will try later or tomorrow
 
Hi just something from my expierience with saloock micro (very god meter for all jobs I just love it)
Be carefull Wen You do upgrade - I did update on mine ages ago and the easy find function disapear O-no At the time the way to get it back was soft upgrade to micro G2 software where easy find was enabled again at some cost of 100 euro.
Probably the best bet is just update sat database and then try to align it again to desire one with easy find funktion. In case If You do such soft upgrade there is wayback the old soft is on site where all variants of soft are avialable (can rememer ecxacly which one: kaos sat or something similar). Another case is that in easy find funkcion thor is kind of very very fragile- tiny movment and you are out of point not similar at any point to astra's and hotbird where youdo have knd of small movement. eF Function is really easy and fast just needpractice as everything else.

My software version is SMG 2HD -120-EU and the new version is SMG2HD-125-EU.HEX, is that the version you have on your seat finder?
Not sure if I will upgrade now time will tell. Point taken about practise so I will keep trying and see if I improve.

Isn't SMG2HD-125-EU for the upgraded model, ie G2?
