Help with Stab HH100 and Dreambox DM 800HD please...

My first post so hi to everyone!
I have a Stab HH100 with a 85cm dish which has worked fine on my DB 7000 for years.
After the 7000 died I eventually bought a DM800 and the stab immediately started to misbehave but intermittently: no chance of a full scan and occasional (but not always) movement towards east or west because it eventually lost the picture.
It would then be a nightmare to bring it back to Hotbird although occasionally you would turn the DB on and ther it was, back on Hotbird.
The strange thing is that I have a Technomate TM5000CI also connected (through a dual feed Invacom LNB).
This used to drive the motor without problems but now the Stab doesn't work with it either!
The Stab eventually got "stuck" at around 15 W I think and wouldn't move anymore. After several days trying I just had to get up there and untighten the bolts and turn the whole motor and dish towards hotbird.
I get a signal around 54% at its best (before was up to 95-96%) because the inclination of the dish is wrong (it was after all pointing to 15 W).
Can someone advise me on what to do to at least get a good signal on Hotbird as don't fancy changing the motor (if necessary) with gale force winds...! :confused:

i the past i bought the same motor around 3 years ago,then after 1,5 year,exatly the same symthoms,the motor lost his mind,and dont go the the selected satellite anymore,its a eprom memory fault inside!
i replace it with in warrenty,only the company in italy can fix it!
did you maybe replug,the satellite cable,coming from the dish,without swtiching off the stb?
when it before working,before connect it to dm 800?

I always try to be careful when I do that but I can't be sure I didn't do by mistake...
 
Hi vocalis,

Sounds like the motor is definitely faulty. Why not replace it so you have access to the full arc. If you want to lock it up on 13e, take off the motor and mount the dish onto the pole and align up. Use dishpointer for a rough AZEl guide.

I was hoping to be able to get the motor to move but really it makes sense to do what you suggested.
Should I go for the Stab still? After all my worked for 6 years without problems?
