From what I've read, a smart card can be used to decode encrypted channels. So I was wondering, what's the point of having a smart card and a CAM-module? I read CAM-modules are meant to decode certain coding systems (isn't that what smart cards do)?
 
The CAMs provide the decoding of encrypted signals, the smartcards the keys to those signals...

Think of the cam as a doorlock, and the card as the key... :D
