hi my dm 7120 comes today

hi been reading idiots guide so if i missed this im sorry .can i install my own hard drive it looks strait forward but theres a risk of static frying some thing.i got maxtor 7200 250 gig .and when do i install it before i turn it on for the first time.or do the initial set up first and install it later.

The receiver is as sensitive to static damage as a computer so you should take static precautions.

Get it working first - then you know it works. If it doesnt work the hdd is one less thing to troubleshoot to get it going again
