At that price, yes. I bought 10 and they gave me a massive 50% discount. Now my 1s and 0s sound much purer and more dynamic as they flow through the pure silver hand-crafted by Nepali monks from Yak pubes goodness :)
 
It's the same with 'gold plated' HDMI cables costing £100 ... Which makes sod all difference in a digital world. A 5 quid job from flea markets will do the job just as well.

Either way, Analogue audio sounds better than Digital, cos digital is so on and off, where as analogue is always on...:D

I have found that LP's recorded onto cassette tape give a better audio presence than the same music on MP3 CD/USB :)

Technics RS-B405 Metal/CrO2 with Dolby B & C + dbx (1986 =29 years old) in perfect working order after dry joints on circuit board re-soldered, (Bought new by me)

Technics RS-TR373 Metal/CrO2 with Dolby B & C twin deck (1998 = 17 years old) In perfect working order (Rebuilt & serviced 3 years ago,) (2nd hand)

Technics RS-TR255 Metal/CrO2 with Dolby B & C twin deck (1989 = 26 years old) One deck now faulty need new motor.(2nd hand)
 
The only tape player I have that works is in my panasonic stereo thing, doesn't really matter though cos I only have three cassettes, and I have those in other less hissy formats anyway... :-rofl2
 
I remember a chap I worked with years ago being quite indignant that he'd had some friends round and had asked one of them what they thought of his music system which was playing at the time. 'I don't know, I haven't seen it yet.'.....the point being, why does it matter what it looks like?
 
For me the most important thing is it sound. Looks don't really matter.

But I do know some people, unless it flashes and lights up it is no good.

As Students, around forty years ago, we selected our Hi-Fi kit on the bizarre basis of the "Buttons per £" ratio!

No fancy features here. Just the buttons you need. But then the remote has all the buttons.

(must order a spare remote)

Didn't Quads use some unusual amplifier setup? IIRC I think it might have operated in Class C which was supposed to reduce distortion to negligible levels. It must be a prodigious consumer of electricity and producer of heat.

I was sold it as a class a/b with current dumping? Yes it does get a bit hot.

But all I know is it sounds much better then my old setup.
 
I'm sure in the past there was a HiFi section, but 9 years of loitering about here has made me forget... :-rofl2
 
I'll look at setting one up this evening.
 
Found this Technics ST610L Tuner in cash converters for £19.99 fits in with my stack system & works very well on my home made indoor Coax Aerial currently screwed to the ceiling :)

Unfortunately the Leak Stereofetic will not go in my stack system :(

Next project to either build a loft aerial from the parts I have below or buy a new FM loft aerial,
