You should actually be able to get away with 60cm. I get good signal (stronger than hotbird) with 60cm here in Northern Ireland with no picture loss in bad weather.
To be on the safe side 80cm is best - especially considering you live in Scotland.
A top tip for recieving Hispasat is to wait for a sunny day - aim your dish at the sun at 3.00pm (BST - 2.00pm GMT). At this time, the sun is at 30W exactley.
The dish face also needs to be roughlty vertical to get a signal.
