Is smps power supply going to be just as reliable as the torroid transformer one?
hard to say ! but the power supply costs 10 to 15 euros and it is regulated, the transformer 35euros + diode bridge + capacitor .........

Ich denke schon, werde auch für das nächste Steuergerät (für den Egis) wieder die Serie verwenden, die ich schon jetzt nutze. Der Unterschied liegt dann nur in der benötigten Spannung von 24V statt der 36V.
Nachdem es Einzelanfertigungen sind, wird es JP egal sein, was er dir einbaut, solange du die Kosten trägst.
Allerdings lese ich auch Beiträge, wo Leute schon in Schockzustand verfallen, wenn es um 10 € Versandkosten geht. Da muss man JP verstehen die Fertigung sehr günstig machen zu können.

I think so, I'll use the series I'm already using for the next control unit (for the Egis). The only difference then is the required voltage of 24V instead of 36V.
Since they're one-offs, JP won't care what he puts in you as long as you pay the cost.
However, I also read posts where people fall into shock when it comes to 10 € shipping costs. You have to understand JP to be able to make the production very cheap.

by definition, TTL technology is 5V but often the circuits in 3.3V are functional in 5V (to be checked in datasheet)
FEMI what cable did you find in 3.3V??
on aliexpress there is many products USB to TTL with selectable voltages 3.3/5v even 1.8/2.5V but for my positioner we need 5V because of microprocessor inside (89s52).

I found a funny bug on my positioner:
I bought several remotes from amazon (designed for SRT7004 an old satellite receiver)
Cardiff discovers this problem:
the on/off key gives another code between these two models of SRT7004 the code for on/off is on FAV touch!!!!

I made corrections to my program for the positioner:
-I added the change of polarization of the skew with the remote control (when we are not connected in Diseqc).
- I changed the basic display with AZ and EL at the same time.
- various small bugs.

On my polar frames I always put the actuator on the right, but Italian colleagues and surely others in the East put it on the left.
I thought of putting a parameter to define this case:
I want the azimuth counter to be at 0 when actuator is retracted and of course to drive the dish to the west when the west button is pressed (Blue), whatever the position of the jack.
also for the elevation I want the elevation counter to count from 0 when actuator is retracted and the jack to come out when the green button = UP is pressed.
of course the azimuth counter index will vary towards the west for the left mounting, and vary towards the east for the right mounting.

to respond to a request from FEMI, I developed a particular management of the cylinder movements: to compensate for the mechanical play of the mount, FEMI wants the mount to always go to its destination from the right, ex: - if we are on 19° and want to go to 13°, we will go to 10° and then come back to 13°. -on the other hand if we are on 10°e and we want to go to 19°e, we go there directly. -I did a test for cylinder positioned on the right, if the cylinder is on the left, the device will have to be reversed.

Um einer Anfrage von FEMI zu entsprechen, habe ich ein spezielles Management der Zylinderbewegungen entwickelt: Um das mechanische Spiel der Halterung auszugleichen, möchte FEMI, dass die Halterung immer von rechts an ihr Ziel geht, z. - Wenn wir auf 19° sind und auf 13° gehen wollen, gehen wir auf 10° und kommen dann auf 13° zurück. - auf der anderen Seite, wenn wir auf 10° sind und auf 19° gehen wollen, gehen wir direkt dorthin. - Ich habe einen Test für einen rechts positionierten Zylinder durchgeführt, wenn der Zylinder links ist, muss das Gerät umgekehrt werden.

In my adaptation of my positioner for the EGIS motor there is a case that I had not completely foreseen:
-it is a prime focus antenna, there is necessarily a mechanical polarotor or equivalent.
Several users have dual-band, single-polarisation LNBs with LO switching via 14/18V (there are also 22k LNBs but they don't want to throw away their current expensive LNBs).
-I found a simple solution: configure the enigma2 receiver with a universal head (14/18v = polar, 22khz = band), my posi intercepts the two informations and uses the 14/18v to manage the H/V polarity and the presence of the 22khz to change the power value of the old standard lnb.
-Luckily both information are already retrieved by the current DISEQC setup and the 14/18v command for the old head is very simple to add.
Among the users there is also an Italian friend who is in this case on a prime focus on polar mount .
-with this addition I should be able to answer all cases of configurations

Since the beginning of the creation of my positioner I have drawn 4 versions of motherboard, 3 types of keyboard, 2 models of LCD displays.
It was starting to be complicated to make modifications and then compile all these versions!
I also added some specific additions for Captain Jack, FEMI, etc.
I have reorganized my files with the use of assembly directives to have the most common pieces.
I also made a version for EGIS engine.
In a few days I will send an updated version to all.

mon positionneur peut gerer plusieurs configurations materielles differentes :
-1 une monture polaire avec 2 actuators AZ et EL .
-2 la meme chose avec un polarotor mecanique .
-3 meme chose mais avec le lnb changeur de TRUST (moteur diseqc 1.2)
-4 modele special Stanislav Grech : 2 actuators azimut + un moteur pour un changeur LNB avec actuator classique.

le contenu de la memoire EEPROM est organisé pour convenir a tous les modeles , mais certaines données ne sont pas utiles
pour chaque modéle : la position LNB à l adresse $00D0 ne convient que pour le modele 4.
Pour le modele 3 (le plus répandu) le 'JPCposi' envoi seulement une commande Diseqc 1.2 contenant un numero de sat de 0 à 16 ,
la position réelle du lnb changeur est memorisé dans le boitier du moteur lui meme.
Mon programme peut faire deplacer ce moteur et memoriser une position en face d un numero de 1 à 16 mais cette valeur est dans le moteur du changeur.
Chaque valeur (1 à 16) correspond à une tete LNB et n a pas à etre defini à chaque sat mais globalement.
Mon programme dialposi 7G permet de gerer ce fichier d EEPROM , j ai retiré les données destiné au modele 4.

My positioner can manage several different material configurations:
-1 A polar frame with 2 AZ and EL ACTUATORS.

The real position of the changer LNB is recorded in the engine box even.
My program can have this engine move and use a position in front of a number of 1 to 16 but this value is in the changer engine.

My Dialposi 7G program allows you to manage this EEPROM file, I removed the data intended for model 4.
