I am thinking about ordering the TBS6922 card as it seems to be one of the newer designs. I'm in the UK and I don't think there is a stockist that actually has one here.

I'm just wondering if I order it online, does it ship from Singapore? Has anyone bought a card this way and are there any problems with import duty to pay?

I would be interested in hearing any views on this card. I am a bit of a newbie with DVB-S2 but not with computers. I don't need a twin tuner card so think that this card may be OK for my needs.

Many thanks.

S.

If you're buying it from tbsdtv.com., it'll be shipped from Hong Kong, same as other items in their portfolio.

Several members on the forum, including me, have had no problem buying the TBS 6925 from the company; and you don't pay any import duty.

I don't know much about the card in question, and how it differs from the popular TBS 6925. Maybe a check on the specs of the two cards on the aforementioned site will show the differences.

Thanks for the reply Llew. Useful informarion. I guess I better order now before Xmas.

I don't think I need anything as sophisticated as the TBS 6925. I just need a good quality card to enable me to do general viewing and in particular to be able to make good quality recordings from the HD channels. The S350 I have at present works very well but of course does not decode S2.

Thank you.

S.

We are the UK distributor of TBS and currently have available the 6981 dual tuner DVB-S2, 6984 Quad Tuner DVB-S2 worlds first, 5980 USB DVB-S2 with CI slot and will be offering the full range of the TBS cards in the new year.

Useful info. Thanks!

I need to get the card before Xmas. Usual family reasons :)

I've bookmarked your site for future reference.

Have you ordered the 6922?
I have the usb version 5922. What's your findings with this card?

Yes, I installed it on 27th December. It all went well and works fine with a DiSEqC switch to swap between two LNB's on the same dish (19E & 28E).

Signal strength and quality seem fine and I am running with ProgDVB6 software. The bundled TBSViewer software didn't work well for me on Windows 7 64bit and caused a lockup every time I tried to record. I checked all the directories were fine but couldn't get it to work without a crash. ProgDVB6 is fine.

The HD TS recording plays fine in VLC. I'm now experimenting, without too much success, to try and split out the H264 video and AC3 audio and re-encode into a smaller MKV file. I know it's possible because many people post such recordings to Usenet just a hour or two after HD broadcast. I've tried lots of things but just haven't got it quite right yet.

However, as far as the card is concerned, I'm happy and it works perfectly and is stable.

Thank you for update. Which driver version do you use? I just cannot make progdvb 6 work with 4x1 diseqc. It's fine with DVBdream and TBSviewer. My driver is ver 2.0.1.6.So 2.0.1.8 also is OK but problem is with 2.0.2.3. Signal level drops on many tps with this driver. I made some tests for TBS and they promised they'll correct that issue.
I have no experience with re-encoding.
Up to now no RF Scan possible with Crazycat's EasyBlindscan.

I am using DriverVer 1.0.1.2 (12/22/2011) which are the latest drivers from the site. I'm guessing that there are different drivers for your USB card. Prior to this I was using the Compro 350 card which was PCI, not PCIE as is the TBS6922, and ProgDVB6 works fine with my 4 way DiSEqC switch with both cards. As you indicate it looks like a glitch with the more recent USB drivers.

Up to now I haven't run Crazycat's EasyBlindscan and I'm going to be away for the next couple of weeks so may get to try it then.

Good luck.

Hi Tivu,

Yes I understand about the probation as I am a member of and actually run similar forums. On this occasion however, each time I tried to send my message the bulletin board software responded with an error page stating 'Database Error' and subsequently the site was inaccessable for a few minutes.

It was only on my third attempt that the board responded with the usual message stating my post was awaiting moderation. I think if you check the logs for the time of my first and second attempts you might see the database error or perhaps a system reboot.

Best regards,

Solus.

Ah, that explains it - had a very short outage, no more than five minutes.

Will tidy up now.

Thanks

I agree with Llew _http://www.technisat.com/en_XX/SkyStar-USB-HD/352-1294131238891-1246563456759/
but you better ask technisat directly.

Hi from the OP.

I am using my TBS6922 PCIE card in an Asus P8Z68-V motherboard which of course uses the Z68 chipset.

It works perfectly with no crashes or lock-ups. The only thing I noticed when installing the card was that it was not detected in the first PCIE socket but was correctly detected in the second. I had assumed that was some sort of IRQ conflict.

Anyway, from my point of view it works fine and if I hadn't read down the thread I wouldn't have suspected there was any issue with this motherboard chipset.

HTH.

Hi all.
Would you like to help me ? I'm plan to make a roadmap of dvb-s2 devices for pc and i'd like few good photos of this card.
Thanks for your help.

P.S
If you have photos for another cards and you want to share with me i'll thank you in advance.
