Horizon HDSM USB - Latest Firmware and software

I have to echo Signalios posts about Peyu, he has just helped me out with satedit for the s2, and like he says above its not completelty straight forward to setup if you've not done it before, its not like the satedit for the hdsm which just runs when you click it, there are extra installation steps here which are not obvious, and all credit to Peyu for taking the time and having the patience to get it working, and with his preloaded list breathes new life into the s2. There is a lot of hard work done by Peyu and Im very grateful there are still people around who are willing to help others out, well done and thanks mate.

Hello, sorry to revive a a slightly old thread.
I am helping my dad with getting his Horizon HDSM USB (more the computer part as I really have no clue about anything else). Last time something stopped working Peyu75 was wonderful and helped out and we managed to get it working again. Thank goodness for his help!!
I've tried to attempt it myself but it looks like I've accidently deleted everything?!
Help pretty please!

I have the horizon hd-s2 and I can't upgrade it for hotbird and astra which I would like. Can someone help me?

thanks alot for sharing the link for the downloads, i was able to update my hdsm usb v3, finally found the correct list for sky q, great work, thanks alot.

the only thing is that now when im going to set up hotbird i will have to transfer the sats list, and then if im going to do skyq i will have to transfer skyq list, anyone knows of a way i could merge the two lists together?

many thanks, Kuba,

Hi there, I seen to be in the same situation as you were. I've got a HDSM USB V3 and need to update it. I've got a windows 11 pc now and have downloaded CDM212364 drivers setup to, connected my horizon to my laptop , it indicates program mode but nothing happens on the laptop. Do you know if these are compatible with windows 11?

I updated the firmware years ago and it worked again straight away but I can't remember what the process was. Getting old unfortunately.

Any help much appreciated

Thanks

Ok, was being thick. I've updated with a hex definition file successfully, that I found on links here, dated 2025, but whilst my sky + box has got a lock my Horizon still isn't locking on with to HL Astra 2E 28.2E, but I get 86dB on the signal strength. Any ideas welcome

Have you tried searching for a frequency added manually ?

Hi, thanks for the reply. Yes I've subsequently discovered that the Horizon USB HDSM will apparently only decode DVB-2 and DSS signals not the DVB-S2/8PSK currently being transmitted. However by using the following manual entry.

Frequency: 11426.50 MHz
Polarization: H
Symbol rate: 27500
FEC: 2/3
Standard: DVB-S / QPSK I've established a lock with the meter and getting 86dB with 100% quality.

So unless anyone can point me to a firmware upgrade to decode DVB-S2 then I'm stuck with this limitation.

Alternatively any opinions on the Satlink Ws6916. I'm not a pro installer.

Thanks

Stick with what you have.

Any company that could upgrade to DVB-S2 via firmware could make a fortune, unfortunately the tuner/demodulator is a physical item.
