Hi all. Bit of a random question this but has horizontal high on Astra 28.2 ceased? Last few jobs I've done I've had no signal on H Hi. Hoping this isn't something to do with dropping my meter the other week!!

Nope - working fine - if that polarity had gone awol there would be uproar as about 200 channels would be missing!

Hmm, must be my meter then. It's picking up RF signal just not a lock. All other transponders are fine. This has been the case for 3 normal sky dishes and a communal with Quattro lnb.

What are some of the channels on H HI?

Hi/Lo crossover is normally 11700khz.

I'll leave you to work the polarity out :D

Or you could just tell me :-ohcrap

All I want to know is a channel which is on H HI so if it is my meter, at least I can check.

If we tell you everything you wont learn anything. Flysat is an incredibly useful site - regularly updated and easy to use. Well worth spending 10 minutes getting to grips with.

Ive chosen that site as its particularly easy to use.

So high is everything from 11700 upwards?

Coolio. Strange that my meter isn't getting a lock on that one reading but is getting RF signal on it. I guess the drop killed the H HI. Either that or it's one hell of a coinsidence and I got 4 faulty lnb's in a row

Strange to just be missing Horizontal high though.

For example, if the 18V wasn't working you'd lose Horizontal low as well, and if the 22kHz wasn't working you'd lose Vertical high too.

Slightly OT but having introduced you to Flysat spend a quiet half hour finding your way around KingofSat. Another incredibly useful site

especially the search function

You can find all sorts of useful info out by changing the search parameters. And answer many questions about channels, and languages in a few seconds.

hello, you probably have the v high missing as well.
sounds like the 22 khz generator has stoped working.
wothout the 22 khz both h high and v high would me missing

What meter is it? And has it got a spectrum display? If it has the specrum display will let you know what is at fault.

Not something I'd expect an installer to ask but still.... you most probably have a faulty meter; at a guess your using an Horizon.
