Türksat 5A is planned for that spot next year... so i think they not going to move Hotbird 13D there for a year or so but who knows... Who knew they were about to replace Hotbird 13D?!

That was a surprise I suppose somebody eventually worked out that they did not need 3 satellites with 64 transponders each @ 13 east with only 95 active transponders here 192 transponders was a bit of an overkill my guess will be 12.5 west.

As Stellat 5 / Eutelsat 5 West A is nearing end of life here estimated 2017 to 2019 depends if you believe what Eutelsat give as estimated life,

4 new satellites under construction it looks like Eutelsat Quantum will be able to go anywhere.

50/50% i think. Accrording Eutelsat documents 5W has estimated end of life is 3rd quarter 2019, 12.5W (ex8a) - 2nd quarter 2019. 13d - 1st quarter 2024

12.5 west seems the most likely destination for 13D ,

I have dismissed 5 west as E5WA has an active C band package & 13D does not,

The strongest contender for the 1st Eutelsat Quantum is 5 west in my opinion for several reasons Eutelsat is a French based satellite company with their main satellite for France @ 5 west due for replacement by 2019 & the 1st Quantum becomes available in 2018.

Yes, you are right, i completely forgot C band.
And 13D doesnt have America beam, right? I dont know if that beam is active now but beginning of this year it was active with these channels at least:

Ever since Eutelsat 12 West A ceased transmissions here & was replaced by E12-West B a couple of months ago,

There is no longer any sign of them being active here now on Eutelsat 12 West B at 12.5°W - LyngSat

So they have probably moved to another satellite or to streaming.
A lot of tv in South America is streamed as it is cheaper Free TV - South America - LyngSat

or a C band version @ 22 west TV Pampa Norte - LyngSat

I suppose it is possible that Eutelsat 12 West A is broadcasting these channels from it's new location @ 36 west but as no one has reported this I do not know,
