Hello guys.

Before I write anything I'd like to say sorry for any mistakes as I'm Polish and my English language is still not perfect.

Okay, so I created that thread because I need help with my satellite setup. At the moment I'm using Sky Mini Dish to watching Polish TV in England from HotBird 13E.

My friend went back to Poland and he left a box from Sky for me. I'd like to watch Sky from Astra 28.2 but I don't know which multi lnb bracket should I buy for this dish.

I was thinking to buy a new dish - Triax TD 78 or 88 with Multi LNB Holder for Triax's dishes (Triax TD Multiblock Multi LNB Holder - 4 Way) but I'd love to keep my current setup and just put a holder for Sky Dish if it's possible.

What should I do then?

I'll be more than happy for any help.

Thank you very much.

Welcome to the forum. Yes its possible - many folk on the forum have similar setups.

You dont even need to spend as much as £14 - one of these will do just as well for half the price

Code:
http://tinyurl.com/hnwt949

Dead easy to use - just bend the outer lnb in a little bit towards the dish to get better illumination from it. Quite a few folk around the forum use them as they are great for experimenting with.

You might get away with using your existing dish as well - give it a try & see how you get on,.

A TD88 dish would be usable for what you want.

Plus you should be able to squeeze a couple more lnb's

Good luck with the install, any problems just ask.

Any more instructions how do it becaues I'm still not sure. Or maybe photos? I have no idea how to install it to my Sky dish to be honest. I'm completely beginner with satelittes equipment.

Assuming you start with what you have - a dish pointing at 13E and you use an adaptor like the one I posted.

Clamp one of the outer plastic bits round the existing lnb & tighten it up just enough so it grips the lnb but can be made to move. Facing the dish fix the secondary lnb to the LEFT of the existing one and up a bit - you will need to move it left & right & up a bit until you hit the sweet spot. You are probably looking at around twice the width of the lnb face to the left and half its width up.

Much easier if you can beg or borrow on old tv - then just set up outside on a nice afternoon & see what you can get. The worst thats going to happen is you waste a couple of hours of your time.

Only thing is - if the dish is awkward to get to or its a ladder job and you arent happy up ladders - get someone in to do it. Ive got pics of mine somewhere - I'll see if I can find one.

I've got quite easy access to my dish so it's not a problem.

I'll be so happy if you can post some photos of it just to make sure I'm going to do it correctly.

So if I'm looking on my dish from behind Sky LNB should be installed on my left and lower than the LNB for Hotbird 13E? But how to put that holder to my dish?

As mentioned here a 88cm dish is ideal for your set up as you stand in front of the dish the sky is reversed behind you 28.2 east + 19.2 east +13 east + 7 east or 5 east with the 4th Lnb

This system gradually evolved from 2 to 4 Lnb's I have since motorised this 88cm mesh dish,

I hope this illustrates what is possible.

It doesnt plug in - unscrew the long thin locknut (dont drop the nut - they are difficult to find on the ground - been there!) The plastic collar snaps over the neck of the lnb then you do the lock nut up again. Still looking for the pics - they are on the computer somewhere but there are 1000's of pics!

You mean to take that screw or whatever it is located on my lnb arm and put that holder into this place and use this screw again to stick it to the arm?
from 3:20 on this movie.

Am I right?

No - the screw in the top of the plastic collar. Undo it, snap the collar round the lnb then do it up again. Repeat for the other lnb. Remove the unused third collar & put it away safe for future use.

Okay. This is how I'll put my LNB to this holder.

But how to plug in holder to my dish arm?

I mean this:

You dont - its just hangs off the lnb's. No contact whatsoever with the dish arm.

I still don't understand it :(

Could you please use photo of my LNB and mark how I should install it? Because I can't imagine how it is going to work.

Really sorry for all silly questions but I never did it before.

Lovely, now I know that Sky LNB needs to be lower than 13E as I can see it on your photo.

So how should I install this Holder - Multi LNB Holder for All Satellite Dishes HotBird Hold 3 lnbs Polsat NC+ Sky | eBay to my dish?

Can someone illustrate it on a picture?

Thank you very much for all your help.

Because the signal here is so strong from 28.2 east I got away with the 28.2 east Lnb being lower but later found that the 28.2 east Lnb need to be higher re my last photo.
This illustration shows what is possible with a small dish but you will loose signals when it rains that is why it is best to use a 88cm dish.

4 Lnb's on a 60cm dish.jpg

As you can see the further east you go the higher the Lnb needs to be.

Somewhere in England (possibly?)!
)You don't plug the holder into the dish LNB arm - you leave the existing LNB in place and fit the clamp for your central LNB around its body (which means that you need a central LNB with a fairly long 40mm diameter section on the body, and not all LNBs have that - Technomate ones are good in that respect).

That leaves you two spare LNB clamps: one should be on each side of the central LNB already on the dish. The central LNB should be aimed at 19E and you need to adjust that for best reception before you do anything else; and then the one on the left (viewed when standing behind the central LNB ) will be for 28E, and the one on the right will be for 13E - and then you adjust those separately for best reception.

PS: be careful when opening those LNB clamps to fit the LNBs because they can break at the base (I've had 2 do that) - so do it gently!

PPS: you then adjust the angle of the support bar up (on the left side then that "up" for 28E) to get the best reception.

PPPS: in some cases you can add a 4th LNB to the support bar, but it's difficult and you need very narrow-bodied LNBs or else they physically interfere with each other. OTOH, you could bolt a metal strip on one end of the existing support bar, but it will need bracing back to the dish or it will "wave all over the place" if touched or if there is any wind (been there, done that!)

PPPPS: Your grasp of the English language is actually very good!

This is probably the best dish for a fixed system giving you a lot of options,
