Or he could just keep it on 28E and watch the FTA Channels, most of which Sky Subscribers don't realise are actually FREE!

Why not?

Personally, I always buy the cheapest and have never had quality or reliability issues.

Because I don't know which one will be good. I may also connect Sky dish from 28.2 to my Vu+ Solo 2 and use Diseqc to watch Freesat chanells on a second room (with Polish TV)

... is the reason why Sky, Freesat and hobbyists use the wider than tall "Sky"dishes.

The wider the dish, the narrower the beamwidth in that dimension.
I always understood that the reason for this 'wider than tall' was to create a narrower beamwidth there, to diminish interference from 26E.
As the dishes are offset dishes, they are FAR wider than tall....

But I'm no expert....., I may be wrong?

Sounds a decent hypothesis except for the fact that it is not easy to catch 26E on such a small dish in the UK and environs. 80cm upwards required.

That said, looking at historical posts on the matter, it seems that rejection of other Satellites was indeed a factor, as was visual impact.

When I motorised a 60cm region-2 dish a couple of years ago these are the satellites I received:-
Intelsat 12 45.0°E
Türksat 3A/4A 42.0°E
HellasSat 2 39.0°E
Astra 2E/2F/2G 28.2°E
Astra 3B 23.5°E (Only strongest transponders)
Astra 1KR/1L/1M/1N 19.2°E
Eutelsat 16A 16.0°E (Only strongest transponders)
Hot Bird 13B/13C/13E 13.0°E
Eutelsat 10A 10.0°E (Only strongest transponders)

Eutelsat 9B 9.0°E
Intelsat 10-02 - Thor 5/6/7 0.8°W
Eutelsat 5 West A 5.0°W

Intelsat 907 27.5°W
Hispasat 30W-4/30W-5 30.0°W

That's the same as I got bar am sure you got a lot more on 16E than I could, also got 46E but it had just launched channel's and was testing at high power obviously.

Can the original poster please write for me what "Not to be removed" is in Polish as I'm going to sign my L bracket in both English & Polish as 100% of the labourers that are doing the cladding work are Polish so no point writing in English only, cheers mate.

You might also want a translation for " Cavity Wall Insulation " !

Indeed. Except there were no adjacent Satellites to reject with such a small Dish. Not then. Not now.

The "visual impact" factor appears to have been the main driver.

Somewhere in England (possibly?)!

Another reason for the mini-dish being wider than tall is probably that most of the signal is actually collected from the lower section of the dish, and the upper section does not actually collect that much, as well as the smaller dish being much less visually obtrusive (and cheaper!) than the traditional taller-than-wider elliptical dish - unless, that is, you have multiple "mini-dishes" on the face of a block of apartments/flats or terraced houses (as is very common around here) because that's totally "in your face" when you are there.
OTOH, depending on where you are in W.Yorkshire, it may be different there o_O?

Edited: your most recent post kinda "supports" the last past of what I wrote above - but, as I said above, that sometimes does not work out in practice!

Is it possible anyway to get Astra 2E (28.5) and 28.2 on one LNB and Sky Dish?
I allways did my finetuning on 28E here in the Netherlands by finding the best compromise between 28.2 transponders and 28.5 transponders, even when 28.5 was still at 28.3. It really made a difference!
If you aim your LNB at the wrong side of 28.2 or the wrong side of 28.5, you might notice it in bad weather situations. Better aim at the middle :-) .

Remember, if you buy a new minidish then make sure it is the larger Zone 2 dish (unless your existing one is already Zone 2 - in which case a new Zone 1 dish will do)

Okay guys, all done :)

I though that I have Sky Zone 2 to get Hotbird but it was Sky Zone 1.

Bought another Sky Zone 1 dish to get signal from Astra 28.2. Because of no space on my wall Sky dish is covering a bit of Hotbird dish. Apparently I've lost only couple % of my signal from Hotbird. I coulnd't do more unfortunately.

Finally my signal for Hotbird is about 60-80%, depend on transponder and 85-100% on my Astra 28.2.

Thank you very much for all your help anyway!

I love you guys :-)
