hi,

Can someone please advise me.
My landlord has installed new satellite dishes, one for Hotbird and the other for Freesat. But I only have one feed and a return in my flat. Would it be possible to receive channels from both satellites? If so, what do I need?

It may be setup with whats known as a disecq switch allowing remote switching.

Try setting it up so 28E is on port A and 13E on port B.. If not reverse them.

The receiver - depends really what you want to watch.

Dont worry too much about the ports atm - it will become more obvious once you have the rx. Disecq switching just allows a receiver to see two (or more) dishes down one cable thanks to a nifty box of electronics.

No channels worth watching. Just TVE Internacional which is a lot of patriotic rubbish, plus Canal 24 news.

Hi,
The list of channels is not great, but better than nothing. My girlfriend is Spanish and would like to watch the news in Spanish sometimes. Can any receiver do for me? Or do I have to look out for something particular?

Any FTA receiver with DiSEqC 1.0 capabilities would do. However if you prefer a named recommendation a Technomate TM5200 would do the job.

You're getting confused between Spanish Channels and channels in Spanish. I doubt watching/listening to some crazy South Americans is going to bring any relief to a home-sick Spaniard.

19E would be a much better bet as at least there are some regionals on there.
