Carrying some American channels, very strange.
One America News, Outdoor Channel, America’s Funniest Home Videos, World Poker Tour, Triton Poker and Cricket Gold.

I wonder what the target audience is. The latest addition America’s Funniest Home Videos has a lot of glitches. It seems legit as One America News has a press release about it. Still carrying American ads.
 
Probably for American soldiers based in Europe.
 
Solid gold channels every one of them.
 
It could be only for the amerian presidential elections?
 
I doubt it. Soldiers have AFN and they’re moving to streaming too. And most channels aren’t news focussed.
 
This is not a new transponder, It has been around since August 26

the new MuxIP platform of the Eutelsat Hot Bird 13G satellite (13°E) will be free of charge and distributed according to the FAST model (free television, supported by advertising).

Until recently, the channels were distributed on FAST platforms in the United States, Canada, Australia, India, and other parts of the world. From 26 August 2024, MuxIP and Eutelsat Group will broadcast modified versions to viewers in the United Kingdom and generally in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa

the ads are very medicine-oriented. Most US citizens look to be in poor health!
 
Eww the transmission standards are not very good on these channels

the picture on Cricket Gold is horrible - lots of stuttering

One American News the ticker is all jittery.

And as for the the "funniest videos" well they are about as amusing as toothache. :N
 
seems the quality varies day in day out...propagation? or pointing of signal deficient?
 
I’d wager that they’re uplinking and transcoding from an unstable IP feed. I know these FAST channels exist elsewhere but I have no idea how they’ll monetise it via satellite on Hotbird.
 
US soft power maybe?
VOA is soo boring compared to bbc world,DW,China,NHK,Korea's 2 channels in English...

Channels are still pretty stuttery. I wonder why they haven’t solved that.
 
The channels are still awful quality for me. Is it the same for everybody else? Glitchy sound and picture.

you need to refine your pointing!
I did to still get Boulis channel on Hotbird (weaker since new frequency)
Then the pic became better on many weaker channels including these...

Nature,, hunting, ritualised brutality... the (bad) old USA. Only Buffalo Bill is missing!
But the wide open spaces are great to watch anyway!

And....OOOhhh this OANews is soooo dammned stupid and pre-historic heavy brain-stuffer! Does anyone REALLY watch this,serious???
 
Still unstable with good signal, I think the transmission has problems.
