i've just bough 2 dishes, dish1 & dish2, as well as 2 satellite receivers, rcv1 & rcv2.

the 2 dishes are non-motorised.
dish1 is pointing at sat1.
dish2 is pointing at sat2.

rcv1 is in the main living room.
rcv2 is in my bedroom.

currently, i've setup both of them seperately.

i also bought a diseqc 4-1 switch as well T-splitter for experiments. unluckily, while rcv1-dish1 is on TP with H polarisation, rcv2-dish2 can't get any signal for TP with V polarisation. are the dishes injecting signals into each other?

how do i correctly parallel/link them together? i mean:
rcv1------dish1 & dish 2
rcv2------dish1 & dish 2

Remove the T-splitter and throw it away.

An lnb is an active device with voltage switching on it - V tp's get 13V, H tp's get 18V Therefore you can see if rx 1 is on a H channel no matter what happens, rx 2 cannot switch to a V tp.

If you want both receivers to operate off both lnbs then buy 2 quad output lnb's and 2 disecq switches.

Run individual coaxes to both receivers

buying quad output lnb is totally out.
any switches that can do the same job?
it would be nice if there's a drawing about the correct connections.

It simply won't work unless you go and buy some different LNBs.

Twins will do.

quick diagram below:-

( bottom dish should say dish 2 not dish 1)

It's not really possible to use both receivers at the same time with single output lnbs.

Basically, take one output from each lnb to each switch. Then run a cable from each switch to the receivers. Poor quick diagram attached!

sigh...
i understand that 1 LNB cannot be used to watch V and H channels at the same time.
so i plan to reconfigure my setup.

rcv1---dish1
rcv2---dish1 & dish2
condition: while watching shows on rcv1, rcv2 is only linked to dish2. with rcv1 switched off, rcv2 can be switched to dish1.

how to setup?

can mechanical AB switch be used?
