We have 9 people coming for dinner, so we bought a 17 pounder, he's been cooking upside down for the last three hours, i've just turned him over to finish cooking him :).

I have a pork joint which, although it was the smallest I could find, will still be big enough to do me sarnies on Boxing Day....(incidentally the French don't have Boxing Day...it's "le jour apres Noel")

True to tradition in norway crimbo dinner on xmas eve.

Slooooooooooooow roasted leg of lamb ( 4 hours @ 125C ) on a bed of diced carrots , onion slices, and bay leaves with 500ml of water.
Lamb rubbed in with fresh ground black pepper, fine ground rosemary and sea salt and a pinch of dried mint, even put some fresh rosemary sprigs into the flesh.

Served with oven roasted ( par boiled ) potatoes, homemade yorkies ( could not find Tivu`s brand of beer ) homemade sage and onion stuffing, garden peas and broccoli, the whole doused in onion Poop with mint sauce.

Happy xmas to everyone:)

Regards

No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...

Pheasant, goose crown, beef, something else I can't recall, all small but flavourful pieces of meat... :)

It's not the quantity that matters, it's the quality, big flavourless turkeys are a no-go for me, that said most turkey's a no-go, has to be heavily flavoured to give it some, erm, flavour... :)

That sounds nice 2cv, I would have something like that if it wasn't for the wife wanting turkey.

If it were me (and probably the reason I'm still single) I'd have said "If you want it, you cook it!!", there's better meats out there which are more impressive on a festive table... :D

Going to in-laws today... Not sure what meat we are having but there's going to be lots of it. My dad is preparing Angus beef for tomorrow's meal though.

And I am cooking.....nothing! Just consuming!
