How do I setup a LAN with a Dreambox 7020?

Took some advice!
I think I've sold myself on the DB7020. As a first user, looking to set up a LAN at home and being moderately tech savi, any advice? Would I be better going with a different model first? Grateful for all comments.:confused::confused:
 
The 7020 is an old discontinued Enigma1 box. I would highly recommend you go for an Enigma2 based box at least to ensure you keep up with the latest image developments. Maybe a 500HD , 800HD, or perhaps wait a little for the upcoming DM7020HD.

As for networking, plug it into your router, DHCP enabled, job done.
 
Its right, It would better if you go for newer box...

If you are already using pc with your router and there is internet active on pc, this is mean that DHCP is enabled,
Its unlikely you would have problem connecting DM to your network.

I'm in no rush, just looking for something to do with free time. I'l do some more reading and keep an eye on the forum talk and wait for the recommended DM7020HD, or, at least until I'm restless and can't wait. Now the suns shinning it's garden time.
