Moved my dish around to 30°W (more and more tempted to go motorised by the day but that's another story...), and opened up the normal sites to see what's on there to tune when I stumbled across a few very low symbol rate transponders listed on Lyngsat; most notably 11501V - 700 - 3/4 carrying Europa FM, Onda Cero and Onda Música.
Not being very confident that my Dreambox would be able to lock such a low symbol rate, I had a go anyway, and to my surprise it did and found the three aforementioned radio stations, as it did on other similar transponders (the RNE and RDP network feeds). Tuning into Europa FM often makes it come up with 'tune failed', but if I wait for a few seconds it eventually does lock with an SNR of ~9.5dB.
I tried the same on my Technisat DVB-S2 card using progDVB and managed nothing; I just can't get the transponders to lock. I don't know if this is the tuner or the software though to be honest.
So I just wondered (not sure this is the right part of the forum), what's the lowest that can be managed on all your different tuners? I didn't think anything under 2000-odd was really practical on widely sold domestic equipment but the DM500HD does seem to manage.
