Advice Needed How many dvb s2x channels are there ?

It seems only the few French channels on 33 East actually use S2X or am mistsken ?
 
is this DVB-S2X standard much different from HEVC?
Do octagon receivers manage both systems?
Or is it another French originality like Secam had been in the past century?

DVBS2X and HEVC are two different areas. One is a modulation standard, the other is a compression standard. I think channels on 33E actually use both.
What you want to compare is DVBS2X with DVBS2. They are not that different, but the former is an extension of the normal standard, and if you make use of the new features, a DVBS2 demodulator can't receive a DVBS2X transmission.
I know SF4008 can handle the 33E channels, at the moment.
 
Many modern tv satellite tunes do S2X natively too. Our LG does and its a round 3 years old now

I just tried with my LG and yes sure enough they show fine and even TMC auto selected the English soundtrack but...as with the SF8008 France24 'crashes' also after a few secs with a blue screen which I can't remove

so this seems strange,as France 24 is normally totally FTA like BBC world

That's true but the box must haver the HEVC codec of course, but don't understand why my LG 4k TV and my SF8008 both give blue screens only when I go to the channel, weird. Fine on my SX88+

Since - once again - I had to reinstall SDG I downloaded your skin from the feed and installed it from there. Wanted just to add that this time all went fine without any further work.

Just download it from the feeds. The posted IPKs here won't work.
